Call for participation: Nutcracker Confidential

Carolina Ballet in "The Nutcracker"

You can’t escape The Nutcracker! Have you been a rat, a flower, or a flake? A dresser, a tech, or a stage mother? Have you done it jazz, hip-hop, calypso, or klezmer? Have you been bored to tears or utterly entranced in the audience at America’s perennial holiday ballet?

For an irreverent holiday evening of stories and other diversions titled NUTCRACKER CONFIDENTIAL Dance Exchange is seeking people who have tales to tell about their experiences onstage, backstage, or in the audience at both professional and community productions of The Nutcracker. We are looking both for prepared stand-up stories of approximately 5 to 7 minutes in length, and more conversation-style accounts that could be elicited in an interview format on Thursday, December 15 at our studios. No pay, but we promise you’ll have fun. For information on participating, contact John Borstel at borstelj@danceexchange.org. Deadline: November 15.
