Dance Exchange’s Youth Programs Coordinator shifts her focus to a different age group in her Dancers Over-50 Class Series, which started last Monday. In addition to being a wonderfully thorough and detail-oriented teacher, Wayles also brings a sense of fun and good humor to her class, and, actually, to all of her pursuits in life. Wayles will teach from 9-10:30 am on November 14, 21 and 28. Class is $12. (A reminder: we do not card at the door! This class is geared toward Over 50 movers, but open to all ages).
Wayles Haynes holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Hawaii, and is a Certified Laban Movement Analyst. A dance educator since 1999, most notably at The University of Tennessee Knoxville, the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Queen Margaret University Edinburgh, she now teaches at George Mason University and George Washington University. Wayles leads the Youth and Teen Exchange, youth-led dance companies patterned in the Dance Exchange model where leadership and artistry develop in a collaborative peer-learning environment. Wayles dances and plays in the Metro/DC area as an independent choreographer, educator and dancer.
