Another year of DX at Chautauqua

Tomorrow will bring to a close another week (and another summer) with Encore Creativity For Older Adults at the Chautauqua Institution. The morning performance will include three solo dances and a group piece as well as scenes from the theatre group. The afternoon concert is a variety of choral music and all three groups working together on a medley of songs from Fiddler On The Roof.

The dancers have been a wonderful group and their suite of dances is really terrific. Special kudos to Helga who stuck with the program after spraining her ankle and breaking her wrist in a fall on the first evening!

The morning warm up classes were great fun to teach. Not one actually followed the plan I spent so much time making back at the Dance Exchange studios. The energy, enthusiasm and inventiveness in the group led to new discoveries and new movements each day.

In the after-lunch class, Stuart, David and I worked together passing leadership and activities back and forth and creating new movement experiences. We have yet another new version of the Dance Exchange tool 1-10.

All told, we laughed a lot, danced a lot, played a lot and had an all around great week.
