Local Artists in Residence: Maree ReMalia and John Moletress

In these early, snowy months of 2015, the Dance Exchange studios have been heating up with our 2015 Local Artists in Residence Program! In an effort to continue Dance Exchange’s work as an incubator for a wide range of creative voices, our Local Artists in Residence Program provides certain resources to local artists engaged in the making of new choreographic work over a three month period, in an effort to celebrate and support the rich and diverse DC dance community.

This year’s Local Artists in Residence are Maree ReMalia and John Moletress. As part of the program, each of these artists has been provided with rehearsal space in the Dance Exchange studios and an opportunity to facilitate DX Friday CLASS (If you missed Maree’s classes, you can still catch John’s on May 15 and 29!).

Each artist will also have the opportunity to present their work-in-progress as part our HOME series in the Dance Exchange studios on Thursday, March 19 at 7:00pm. After each showing, audience members will be invited to give feedback to the artists through Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process, facilitated by Dance Exchange artists. We hope you’ll join us to support the incredible moving and making these artists have been doing through their time as Local Artists in Residence!

**Stay tuned for interviews with Maree and John in our upcoming March E-Newsletter. Sign up for our mailing list in the top right corner of our home page!**
