Youth Programs at Dance Exchange

Curious about Dance Exchange youth programs? Join us at a FREE Open House on Tuesday, Aug. 30 to experience and learn about our classes and opportunities for youth to gather, move, and make.

Dance Exchange’s Youth Programs offer opportunities for young movers and makers, ages 8-18, to develop their dance training and cultivate their artistic voice through performance and a collaborative creative process. Programs run September 2016-June 2017.

Youth Exchange (ages 8-12)

Thursdays, 4-5 PM  |  Full year tuition: $450

Our Youth Exchange, for ages 8-12, introduces youth to collaborative dancemaking and performance. In a supportive, inclusive, and youth-centered environment, students can explore their creative potential through dance training and choreography.

September 8-December 15, 2016 (14 classes) – $199

Dates TBA, January – June, 2017 (19 classes) – $275


Teen Exchange (ages 13-18)

Thursdays, 5:30-7:30 PM  |  Full year tuition: $500

Based on the core principles and practices of Dance Exchange, our Teen Exchange offers opportunities for youth ages 13-18 to deepen their dance training and develop their choreographic potential through studio practice, performance, and creative organizational leadership. Teens will collaborate closely with each other, and with Dance Exchange company members and co-directors Matthew Cumbie and Sam Horning, and will help organize and facilitate public events and performances. Members of the Teen Exchange will have opportunities to create their own choreographic work, to expand their abilities as leaders in their community, to develop new friendships, participate in Dance Exchange creative projects, and take other Dance Exchange classes at a discount.
