Community Engagements

Community Workshops

These community workshops bring people across age and difference together to discuss and move through current issues of our time and communities. All ages are welcome

Growing Our Own Gardens Workshops

Join Dance Exchange artists in workshops that connect us across age and difference to surface the stories, struggles, and possibilities of queer communities. These workshops are a part of Growing Our Own Gardens, an intergenerational performance project that engages in dialogue and action about issues faced by LGBTQ+ community members and celebrates Washington D.C.’s queer histories. Participants will have opportunities to join Dance Exchange on stage for the premiere performance of Growing Our Own Gardens at Dance Place in February 2018.

  • Saturday Jan. 27 at 2:30 PM
The DC Center at 2000 14th St NW, Washington, DC
  • Saturday Feb. 17 at 2:30 PM

All workshops are free with a $20 suggested donation/person.

The Dance Exchange HOME Series are evenings that create connections between DX, our local community, and beyond. They include discussions, opportunities to move, showings of works in progress, and learning about Dance Exchange’s programming and practices. Snacks and drinks are available, and all ages are welcome. Contact Sam Horning for questions about HOME programming.
