How To Lose a Mountain Internship

Locations: Takoma Park, MD (Washington, DC area

Length of internship: March 5, 2012 – June 29, 2012

Compensation: $500 – $750 / month

Who should apply: Intern will work with the Production Manager to provide administrative and production support for “How To Lose a Mountain,” an innovative new project by choreographer Cassie Meador. More information about the project can be found here.

Duties may include: scheduling travel for designers and dancers, driving people and supplies to and from trail rendezvous points, assisting with pre-walk prep: such as preparing and dehydrating food, securing gear, and communicating with partner organizations and residency sites. Intern will also have  opportunities to walk with the group for a few days, to assist with residency events and workshops, and to help document stories.

Ideal candidate must be self-motivated, energized by working in a collaborative environment, and love hiking and camping. Interest and skills in video, audio recording, writing, photography, drawing, dance, theatre, or other artistic mediums a plus. Degree and/or working experience in fine or studio arts preferred. U.S. drivers license and clean driving record required.
