Production Intern

Location: Takoma Park, MD (Washington, DC area)  Length of internship: January 3, 2012 – June 29, 2012 Full-time, including some evening and weekend events Pay: $500 / month Who should apply: Intern will assist the Production Manager in providing technical support for all company projects, maintaining company scheduling, acting as a liaison between Dance Exchange, artists, and performance venues, and generally looking at both the big and small pictures as they pertain to Dance Exchange projects. This position requires a proactive, organized, flexible individual who is able to multi-task and work independently. College student or recent graduate with background in technical theatre preferred. Tasks include (but are not limited to): Maintaining company schedules Managing the rehearsal room: playing sound and ensuring that the room runs smoothly Assisting with Load-ins and technical rehearsals Shopping for costumes and props and maintaining storage of such Filming rehearsals, processing, and duplicating rehearsal video footage & maintaining archives Video projects for grant or promotional purposes Assisting with aspects of the How To Lose a Mountain project, including: - Scheduling travel for designers and dancers - Assisting with pre-walk prep: such as preparing and dehydrating food, securing gear - Assisting the walking group as needed while they are on the trail or conducting community events   To Apply: Send completed application form, cover letter, and resume (including references) to Meg Kelly at by November 1, 2011.
