Takoma Park MOVES
for all ages – families welcome

Saturdays 10-11:30 AM – returns Fall 2017

A movement class series for everyone, Takoma Park MOVES recognizes the rich possibility of exchanges when people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and levels of experience come together to dance. Move with a mix of professional dancers, those new to dance, community movers, and families in each of our 7-week series. All ages welcome. Check the calendar to see who is teaching each week.

 

Friday CLASS
for experienced movers 18+

Fridays 9:30-11:15 AM; $15 drop-in/$12 with a class card

Drop-ins always welcome!  |  Ages 18+

A drop-in class for experienced movers, students, and those who are curious about the local dance community. Classes are facilitated by a rotating panel of DX artists, local choreographers, and dancers committed to sharing movement based research and practices through their teaching. Live music, when possible, by local musicians. Check the calendar to see who is teaching and the DX blog to learn about the particular forms being shared in past and upcoming classes.






Class cards are available - $120 for 10 classes. Purchase via Paypal here and bring your receipt to class to receive a card. Cards are also available at the door with cash, credit, or check.

Foundations in Contemporary Dance
for all levels 16+

Tuesdays, 6:30-8 PM: Returns Fall 2017

This class series helps explore and expand a strong foundation in contemporary dance practices. Throughout each 7-week series, we will focus in on the particular practices of each facilitator by building our moving capacities and our dancing community together. Rooted in the Dance Exchange belief that every body can and should dance, Foundations in Contemporary Dance is a dance class for anyone who wants to further develop their dancing practice, ranging from professional dancers to community members to those new to dance.
