Rent Space

Known as our Community and Creative Hub, Dance Exchange’s large, accessible, light-filled studios are perfect for dance, movement and fitness classes, as well as for other performing arts classes and rehearsals. They can also be used for community meetings, team building, parties, and photo/video shoots. The building has a parking lot with 15 spaces, outdoor space, and a kitchenette that are available to renters, and the building is monitored by security cameras. We are Metro-accessible, located two blocks from the Takoma Metro Station (Red Line).

Dance Exchange COVID-19 Policy

General Information

Availability: 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM, 7 days a week

Discounts: Weekday rentals ending before 5:00pm receive a 20% discount.

Location: 7117 Maple Ave, Takoma Park, Maryland (a short distance from the Takoma Metro stop on the Red Line).

Directions from Metro: Exit the Metro and travel straight up Carroll Avenue. Continue for one block to Maple Avenue. Turn left on Maple Avenue and arrive at 7117 on your right. The main entrance and parking lot is at the back of the building.

Studio Capacity and Features: Capacity is determined by activity type. Studio capacity for dynamic and moving activities (ex. a dance class, a rehearsal) is lower than studio capacity for stationary activities (ex. a meditation class or community meeting). Studios 1 and 3 have mirrors. All three studios have a wall-mounted barre. Studios 1 and 2 can be combined to form one large rental space.

Rehearsal Rate Discount: To support local movement artists, we provide discounted rates for rehearsals. We consider a rental a rehearsal if the organizer does not collect any funds (class fees or membership fees) in exchange for the activities occurring in the studio.

Performance Lab
(Studio 1)

Rate: $60/hour; $36/hour for rehearsals

Special features: The Performance Lab has mirrors along one wall and also converts into a blackbox performance space. The studio also has 10 aerial rig points.
