Cohort runs August 2021 - June 2022
Funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Takoma Park, the Dance On OAC Cohort is an intergenerational workforce development program connected to our Organizing with Artists for Change (OAC) initiative and Dance On creative aging program.
What’s the purpose of the Dance On OAC Cohort? The Dance On OAC Cohort supports local artists currently working with or interested in working with adults across the aging spectrum. By providing opportunities to build skills and capacities in facilitation and experiences in the development of creative work, the Cohort invests in artists as leaders at the intersection of aging and the arts.
Who is the Dance On OAC Cohort for? The 2021-22 Dance On OAC Cohort will be made up of six artists currently working with or interested in working with older adults. Four of the selected artists will be individuals living and/or working in Takoma Park, Maryland.
Throughout their experience, Cohort members will take on multiple roles, including but not limited to participant and learner, co-facilitator, collaborative dancemaker, community organizer, and more. These roles will be dynamic, overlapping, and evolving. We invite Cohort members to take an active role in shaping their experience.
