Creative Movement and Improvisation Dance Camp

with Corina Iona Dalzell

Lead Artist for Youth Programs with Dance Exchange

July 14-18, 2025

9am - 4pm daily

What is Creative Movement and Improvisation Dance Camp?

Movement & Nature
In this imaginative program, students will use movement as a tool to explore and connect with the natural world around them. Drawing inspiration from Cassie Meador's Moving Field Guide, students will engage in hands-on activities that integrate dance and inquiry-based learning. Together, they’ll ask questions about nature, observe their surroundings, and use movement to explore these questions creatively. Through improvisation, guided exploration, and collaboration, students will create dances inspired by the plants, animals, and environments they discover. This program encourages curiosity, fosters environmental awareness, and allows students to express their findings through movement while building confidence in both individual and group creativity.
